Race #2 of the season July 14th, 2008
So race number 2 is under my belt for the season. The team had a stellar weekend up at Windham for the East Coast NMBS race….Andy Thomas killed it in the semi Pro race proving once again what a genetic freak he is beating up on the series leader and taking the win….
Here he is on the podium but to his dismay they withheld the bubbly for the pro’s…..
Big Jonny seen here showing excellent feed zone skills took seventh in his expert class…not bad for some who doesn’t get along with ski hill courses……..
And well that leaves the pro race, my race…with the awesome start time of the hottest part of the day…since I have yet to do a national all year I had the luxury of starting on the last row of like 70 or so guys….that’s always fun….so I had a good start and then my day got real bad real fast… I flatted about 7 minutes into the first lap…..as i stopped to fix it I watched the entire field ride away…not such a good feeling…I was about to call it a day after my first quick air failed to inflate my tire but some awesome spectator motivated me to try again and continue….I finally got about 15 – 20 lbs of air in my tire and i was off I figured my day was done but then I started passing guys….I passed about 10 to 15 guys on the first lap with no air in my rear tire I got to the tech zone grabbed a pump an got some air as i lost almost all of the positions I made up …..then I was off I worked my way from dead last to 31st in 3 laps…not too bad but not really how I wanted to spend my day….hopefully I can pull it together for mount snow this weekend….

So its been a while since my last blog but I have been busy…..working and trying tio get in form for the national at windham and the nat’ championships at Mount Snow the following weekend. We went and scouted the course at windham this past weekend and well it goes up turns once or twice then comes down not too exciting and there is not too much flow to it….it won’t be too fun to race but it will a good prep for mount snow…that course is always fun and you can’t help but smile while bombing down the mountain……I wonder where Jay is……….
